Some of you may have noticed a new link in the main navigation on the top right side of the INN layout. It’s a new direct connect to the rebranded ‘INN Starship Crew Connector.’ Although I’d love to call this a new feature, Starship Crew Connector was actually the first site I built for the Star Citizen Community.
What is the Starship Crew Connector?
Starship Crew Connector is a database for Orgs, Captains, and Crew to meet and connect via web and mobile. Unlike in-game job boards, which will be geared towards individuals finding jobs distributed by the in-game economy, Starship Crew Connector is for players, organizations, and ships seeking to fill team positions within their organization, before a mission ever takes place.
Designed, built, and maintained by dedicated, active members of the Star Citizen Universe, the purpose of the Starship Crew Connector is to provide the leaders of starships and organizations who are serious about building better, more cohesive, long-term teams with the tools and information they need to make smarter decisions, while simultaneously providing individuals seeking a meaningful role with a starship or an organization with an easy, intuitive system to find, sort, and filter through the crew opportunities they want to experience.
We’re also aware most individual players in the ‘verse are also captains of their own ship as well, which is why any registered account can both search for and create crew positions. By the way, registration is completely free.
Non-logged in users of Starship Crew Connector can view published crew positions. Registered users can create crew positions, apply for available crew positions, and screen applicants.
Starship Crew Connector is available online and via the mobile web, allowing users to research crew and opportunities when, and where, it’s most convenient.
The key differentiator for the Starship Crew Connector is we put a lot of thought into the in-real-life factors that have the most amount of impact on individual gamer’s ability to meet, connect, and spend time playing together in the ‘Verse. These include:
- Age range
- Time Zone
- Preferred Gaming Time
- Preferred Gaming Days
- Preferred Gaming Style
Of course, it also gives Captains and Orgs the ability to enter their ships and post job openings. Here’s a recent example:
Pinnacle Inc is looking for 2 fighter pilots for Aegis Sabres based on the P.I. Steele Idris Frigate. They will be directly under command of our senior flight lead and airforce training officer. This squad is our primary fighter squad, and will be involved in a variety of assignments, including but not limited to, bounty hunting, assassination, air support for ground troops, boarding run support and recon. Primary ship will be an Aegis Sabre specifically tuned for each mission and pilot by our engineering team. Occasional missions requiring a different ship means having some flexibility in what you are able to fly at a high level is required.
Pinnacle Inc is a PMC with a trade sector to support our rapid development of our military fleet. Our goal is to bring top quality personnel together and provide training to reach the highest level of combat ability.
All recruits start off at the rank of trainee, and based upon ability, and our promotion requirements will have the chance to progress towards their requested roles. This is to ensure the chance of progression in the organization, an established command structure, and a way to track progress and training.
